Adams Twp

June 23 — Adam J. Skantzos-Yaworsky, 25, of Valencia, was charged with felony insurance fraud after police said he lied about how an accident happened May 18 on Route 228.

June 24 — Paul L. Gaspard, 43, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and criminal mischief after police said a woman called 911 on June 24 and operators heard a disturbance. Police said during an argument Gaspard had grabbed the phone from the woman’s hand, causing injury, and broke the phone.

Butler

June 24 — Stephanie K. Sydlik, 33, of Natrona Heights, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police said they investigated a two-vehicle crash June 23 on East Jefferson Street. Police said field sobriety tests showed Sydlik was impaired, and a later breath test showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.232%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Butler Twp

June 27 — Kathy J. Rensel, 59, of Butler, was charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and giving false ID to police after police said Walmart employees stopped her while trying to exit with about $311 in items. Police said they caught up with Rensel in the parking lot where she was parked in her car. Police said Rensel refused to exit her locked car, and when she rolled down her window, she clawed at the police officer’s arm through the opening to open the door. Police said she also gave them a fake name, and Rensel has five prior retail theft convictions.

June 27 — Jamel A. Barnes, 32, of Hilliards, was charged with misdemeanor counts of trespassing and disorderly conduct after police said he caused a disturbance while they investigated a separate but related matter at Sheetz. Police said Barnes appeared drunk and was argumentative with police. Police said Barnes was asked to leave with his friends, but he remained and continued to cause a disturbance. Police said they were then notified Barnes had an active warrant out of Butler County and they arrested him.

Cranberry Twp

June 26 — Daniel R. Pauley, 33, of Freedom, was charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police said officers confronted Pauley, who was walking allegedly drunk along Dutilh Road. Police said Pauley later resisted arrest and, at one point, needed to be restrained.

June 23 — Grant J. Etter, 34, of Zelienople, was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and possessing stolen property after police said he accepted $600 to complete landscaping at a township home. Police said he never returned to complete the job.

June 22 — Kevin L. Prescott, 34, of Carnegie, was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft and possessing stolen property after police said he stole about $889 worth of merchandise from Hobby Express in Cranberry Township.

State Police, Kittanning

June 16 — Gabriel L. Somple, 31, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police said they stopped him April 27 on West Wayne Street in Butler. Police said a K9 unit later alerted troopers to drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests showed Somple was impaired. Somple later refused to have his blood tested.

Zelienople

June 23 — Jason W. Skamla, 22, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police said they stopped him June 18 on East Beaver Street. Police said Skamla ran from a crash involving an Armstrong van, and they found his vehicle parked in a lot with a small fire beneath it. Field sobriety tests showed Skamla was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.151%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.
