Cranberry Community Days expecting big turnout
The upcoming week in Cranberry will be packed with activity as the township gears up for the annual Cranberry Community Days summer event.
Taking place over a three-day period from July 14 to 16, the free festival, managed by the Cranberry Township Community Chest, will offer a plethora of events and attractions.
Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Director Pete Geis said the township anticipates an even larger turnout than last year.
“It all is predicated on the weather — if we have good weather, and that changes every day, we expect anywhere between 20,000 to 30,000 people in three days,” Geis said.
This year’s festival will feature more vendors than ever, said Audrey Rattay, community engagement specialist at Cranberry Township, who is one of the event’s main organizers.
“We have over 210 vendors this year. Last year, we had 94, and in 2019, we had 196,” she said. “It’s a mixture of food vendors, craft vendors, art, local businesses and sponsors. We’re doing things bigger and better than before COVID, with special events and music.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit the renovation of the Kids Castle Playground. The renovations will include new playground apparatuses, a child-sized zipline, additional surface space, a grand entryway and child-friendly seating options. Parking for the event is free.
