David Alan Lightner, 68, of Harrisville, passed away at 4:16 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, in Pittsburgh.

He was born in Grove City on Feb. 1, 1954, to Howard L. and Helen J. (McDaniel) Lightner.

David was a 1972 graduate of Grove City High School. After high school, he went on to work as a heavy equipment operator, first for Adobe Mining, and later for Seneca Landfill.

Surviving is his wife of 24 years, Susan (Dyer) Lightner, whom he married on Dec. 22, 1998, at home in Harrisville; his daughter, Alyson (Andrew) Eaglen of Harborcreek; his son, Bryan Lightner and Julianne Labor in Slippery Rock; and three granddaughters, Delaney, Madelyn and Charlotte Eaglen.

He is also survived by three sisters, Karen (Alan) Bugos of Rensselaer, N.Y., Patty Mattison in Ambridge and Joyce (Jimmy) Swartzlander of Beaver Falls; and his former wife, Cher Hubbard of Port Charlotte, Fla.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Lightner; and his sister, Sue Swartzlander.

LIGHTNER — Visitation for David Alan Lightner, who died Monday, July 18, 2022, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Friday at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
