Fire destroys minivan in Butler
Butler Bureau of Fire crews responded to a vehicle fire on Fairview Avenue at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire Chief Chris Switala said firefighters found an unoccupied Volkswagen minivan engulfed in flames when they arrived.
Switala said no one was inside the vehicle when flames broke out. The cause is unknown.
He said the vehicle’s owners reported the van had been shut off more than an hour before they noticed flames.
Switala estimated damages to the vehicle, which was destroyed, at about $7,000.
He said no other vehicles or property were damaged in the fire.
