Butler man’s threats shut down Wendy’s
A Butler man has been charged with making 10 threatening phone calls that forced a Wendy’s restaurant to close its dining room earlier this month, police said.
A Wendy’s restaurant closed its dining room after receiving threatening phone calls from a Butler man, according to charges filed last week.
Nathan G. Speron, 28, was charged Wednesday with a felony and misdemeanor for terroristic threats and misdemeanor harassment.
From 8 to 8:46 p.m. July 12, state police said Speron made 10 threatening phone calls to the Wendy’s at 122 Clearview Circle in Center Township.
“During these phone calls, Speron threatened to ‘kill’ (an employee) and made a generalized statement that he would ‘cut’ other employees,” the investigating officer said.
The restaurant closed its dining room and locked the doors as a result of the threats.
Police said Speron was located in Butler an hour after the threats.
“Upon locating Speron, he was asked why he was calling Wendy’s, to which he replied, ‘I don’t know,’” the investigating officer said.
Speron’s preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.
