BHS heart team welcomes new member
Dr. Dinesh Bhaskaran, M.D. F.A.C.S., who has more than 16 years of experience in high-risk coronary artery bypass graft procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, the insertion of mechanical support devices like extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and complex aortic valve surgeries, is joining the Butler Health System’s heart team.
A Thursday news release from BHS said Bhaskaran’s vascular experience encompasses both open and endovascular work, and he recently embarked on a robotic thoracic program.
Bhaskaran earned his medical degree from the University of Zambia. He completed an internship in general surgery at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass., a residency in general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at SUNY Science Center in Brooklyn and a fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He has collaborated on numerous studies and publications, and comes to Butler Health System from a successful tenure at Heritage Valley Health System, where he was most recently vice chairman in the Department of Surgery.
