500 plus without power in county
More than 500 residents across numerous municipalities in Butler County are experiencing power outages as a thunderstorm rolls through the area.
According to the West Penn Power’s website, 501 customers of more than 84,000 are without power as of 7 p.m.
Cranberry Township customers are estimated to have lights flicker on around 9 p.m., while residents of Butler, Forward and Penn townships, Connoquenessing, Evans City and Saxonburg boroughs can expect restoration half an hour later.
Mercer Township, Slippery Rock and West Liberty boroughs are expected to have power at 10 p.m. with Slippery Rock Township following at 10:30 p.m.
Additionally, Central Electric is reporting a handful of outages in Jefferson and Marion townships.
