Cruise planned for the meteor shower
Friday night will be the height of the Perseid Meteor Shower.
Preston’s Pearl, the Moraine Preservation Fund’s pontoon boat, will have a special nighttime cruise so people can watch the celestial natural fireworks from the observation deck.
According to Moraine State Park’s website, the cruise begins at 8:30 p.m., and the park naturalist and volunteers of the Moraine Preservation Fund will explain the constellations in the summer night sky.
The post also recommends guests bring binoculars if possible and to dress for the weather. Seating is limited, and the cost is $17 per person for ages 12 and older only. Preregistration is required and can be completed by calling Owlet Gift Shop at 724-368-9185.
