Multiple police cruisers damaged after chase, Renfrew man arrested
EVANS CITY — A chase involving multiple state troopers Tuesday morning ended at the intersection of Myoma and Peters roads in Adams Township with an arrest and charges for a Renfrew man.
Later in the afternoon, David T. Johnston, 26, entered the district court shirtless, bloodied and wearing a medical bracelet alongside handcuffs.
According to police, Johnston stole a vehicle from a Forward Township home and led multiple troopers in a chase that ended with damage to multiple police cruisers.
"Several state police cruisers at this point are out of commission," said Assistant District Attorney David Beichner while discussing Johnston's bond.
District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz arraigned Johnston on felony counts of fleeing and theft, as well as misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment.
Johnston was then taken to Butler County Prison after being issued $150,000 bond.
