Dean family awarded Eagle Bowl
CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The winners of the 2022 Eagle Bowl are no strangers to the Butler Farm Show, or the recognition that comes with the prestigious award.
The three generations of Ro-Ann Haven Farms were presented with the sterling silver Eagle Bowl for the third time in its 69-year history on Friday night.
According to Joel Christy, press foreman at the Butler Eagle and award presenter, the Bowl is awarded to a family that is extensively involved in the good of the farm show.
“The bowl is given to a family who gives time and dedication, volunteerism and participation for the farm show,” he said.
George, Peggy and Michael Dean and Randall, Angela, Kylie and Mitchell Burke, rose to receive their prize in the shade of the Livestock Barn. The family was awarded the bowl in 1989 and 1995.
As a long line of congratulatory friends crowded them, Peggy reflected on their third win.
