Ellwood City woman facing homicide charges waives hearing
SLIPPERY ROCK — An Ellwood City woman waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday on criminal homicide charges stemming from the June 11 killing of a man in Muddy Creek Township.
Brought from Butler County Prison, Nicole L. Schwartz, 36, entered her decision to waive the hearing before District Judge Joseph Nash. Her bond continues to be denied.
Her case now moves forward to the Butler County Common Pleas Court, where she will next appear to be formally arraigned.
According to charges, Schwartz is accused of helping her boyfriend and co-defendant, Daniel C. Lloyd, 19, of Pitcairn, in the killing of her ex-boyfriend Frederick Orr, 32, of Columbus.
Orr was found shot to death along Kelly Road in Muddy Creek Township.
According to charging documents, Schwartz picked up Orr in her SUV while Lloyd hid in the back seat. Police said Schwartz stopped the vehicle, and Lloyd shot Orr roadside.
State police are still looking for Lloyd, who remains at large. According to information filed through the court, Lloyd is a black man with brown eyes, and he has a 6-foot, 3-inch, 155-pound frame.
