State police have identified the drivers in last Tuesday’s crash in Center Township involving a tri-axle that had rolled onto its side.

According to police, Annette Lippert, 72, of Boyers, was driving on Sunset Drive when she pulled her SUV into the intersection at North Main Street Extension.

Police said at that time Gerald E. Roberts, 61, of Sandy Lake, had been driving south on North Main Street Extension.

“(Roberts) swerved and struck (the SUV,)” police said, and the tri-axle overturned on its passenger side in the northbound lane.

According to police, Roberts was flown from the scene to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with suspected serious injuries.

Unionville firefighters at the time reported that Roberts had been conscious when they arrived. They said firefighters had to remove the windshield to help him out of the vehicle.

Lippert was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

Following their investigation, police cited Lippert with careless driving.
