John V. Rodgers, 73, of Butler, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler on March 8, 1949, he was a son of the late Leroy and Lenore Cherry Rodgers.

He was employed for more than 30 years as a communications technician for AT&T.

John was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

He was a Ham Radio Operator (N3MSE), and he also enjoyed photography, hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter and vacation trips to Disney with family.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Rodgers, whom he married Oct. 16, 1971; one daughter, Dr. April Rodgers-Reddig and her husband, Dr. Michael Reddig, of Ephrata, Pa.; a granddaughter, Paige Reddig, of Ephrata, Pa.; and his uncle, aunts and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.

RODGERS — Friends of John V. Rodgers, who died Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Rick Thompson officiating.

Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
