Hugh L. Wehman, 90, of Evans City, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, while under the care of Paramount Senior Living.

Born Jan. 14, 1932, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Russell and Emma Kristophel Wehman.

Hugh was a member of the United Church of God, where he worked on the sound team.

He was a graduate of Evans City High School, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a correspondence school. From there, he started an extensive career at Mine Safety Appliance for 46 years, and after retirement, continued in consultation until the age of 70. He held the highest amateur radio operator license as a ham radio operator.

He was an avid repairman and did on-call repairs for Marburger Dairy Farm and Iffts Turkey Farm. Even in his spare time, he was always building, including a theater organ by hand. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Hugh leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 64 years, Marcia Joan Adelman Wehman, whom he married on Jan. 24, 1958; his children, Ruth (Mark) Morgan of Beverly, W.Va., Patricia Wehman of Pittsburgh and Cynthia (Thomas) Harmon of Callery; and his grandchildren, Thomas Harmon, Russell Harmon, David Harmon, Rachel Morgan and Shaina Morgan.

WEHMAN — Services will be held privately for Hugh L. Wehman, who died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022.

Hugh will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME.
