Louise Puntureri
Louise Puntureri, formerly of Butler, passed away at Windber Hospice in Windber, Pa., on Sept. 15, 2022, at the age of 92.
Born Sept. 3, 1930, in Butler, Louise was a daughter of the late Salvatore “Sam” and Anna Pintell DeFoggi.
Affectionately known to all as “Weazy,” Louise was born during the Great Depression to hardworking Italian parents. She believed in family first and knowing the value of a dollar. Louise was also an avid sports fan, in particular Florida State football. She never missed a TV game, and the refs never got a call right. She was an extraordinary cook, and loved her casino trips with her daughter or friends. She was a favorite Mom to all of her children’s friends. Weazy was always the funniest person in the room. She will be missed by all who knew her over the years.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, and active in 55 and Alive, and the Sons and Daughters of Italy.
She was the loving wife of Rocco “Rock” Puntureri for more than 67 years.
In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by two children, Loreen Bencie (David) of Windber, Pa., and Rick Puntureri (Anne) of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Matt, Megan, Roman and Gianna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Rose DePaolis, who passed away in 2017, and Angeline Bartoli, who passed away in 2020.
PUNTURERI — Services and burial were private for Louise Puntureri, who died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022.
