Alameda dog park getting new bones
Jade’s Dog Park is being dug up, but its four-legged users are not the ones responsible.
The dog park at Alameda Park has mainly just contained some trees and benches since it opened in 2018. Lance Welliver, director of Butler County Parks and Recreation, said it is getting new equipment that will give dogs some obstacles to run around and through.
“This gives them an opportunity to in addition to just running. There are a couple hoops they could go through, crawl through,” Welliver said. “We're going to seed it and grow grass and do some basic maintenance items before we reopen.”
The improvement project is expected to be completed Sunday, Sept. 25, with the dog park reopening Monday, as long as weather cooperates, Welliver said.
