F. Leroy Claypoole

Claypoole

F. Leroy Claypoole, 85, of Butler, and Myrtle Beach, S.C. in the wintertime, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

He was born June 12, 1937, in Kittanning, and was the son of the late Paul and Thelma (Reesman) Claypoole.

Leroy retired as the maintenance supervisor for West Penn Power at the Reesedale Plant.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Leroy’s memberships included Masonic Lodge 805, Worthington-West Franklin Fire Department and the VFW. He also previously served on Worthington Borough Council.

He enjoyed dirt track racing, NASCAR and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Toni (Shulick) Claypoole; his daughters, Jody (Steve) Bemish and Lisa (Dan) Orcutt; his son, Gary Claypoole; his stepdaughter, Michelle (Carl) Monsour; his grandchildren, Cody Bemish, Shane Bemish, Kole Krozley, Chance Claypoole and Jenna Claypoole; his stepgranchildren, Kaden Monsour, Khoury Monsour and Mya Monsour; his dog, “Buddy” and cat, “Precious”; his sister, Shirley (Keith) Ellenberger-Moore; his niece, Stephanie (Tim) Morando; his great-niece and great-nephew, Aiden and Adalyn Morando; and his stepnephew, Chris Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Sally Claypoole.

CLAYPOOLE — Friends of F. Leroy Claypoole, who died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with a memorial service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. at F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 119 Bear St., Worthington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Leroy’s honor to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at Development, UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
