Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler Township

Oct. 6 — Johvian R. Everett, 23, of Pittsburgh, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Police said Everett took a 2011 Ford F-150 and did not return the vehicle to its owner.

Oct. 4 — Nicholas R.T. Roess, 22, of Franklin, was charged with the sale or transfer of a firearm and unsworn falsification to authorities. Police said he made a false statement on firearm transaction forms.

Sept. 28 — Robert C. Elliott Jr., 65, of Lyndora, was charged with a Megan’s Law violation. Police said Elliott failed to verify his address with state police as required.

Sept. 12 — Mario Galietti, 52, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence after police said they found him driving a silver Chevrolet Equinox recklessly.

Oct. 11 — Lee E. Oviatt, 37, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police said he displayed signs of impairment after being involved in a vehicle crash in Brady Township.

Oct. 1 — James A. Moore, 38, of Turtle Creek, was charged with a first-offense DUI. Police said they performed a traffic stop on Moore, who said he was drinking and smoked marijuana prior to the stop. Police said Moore refused a breath test.

Sept. 30 — William J. Vanwormer, 30, of Petrolia, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found Vanwormer displaying signs of impairment while in a vehicle parked at a gas station in Petrolia .

Police said they found stamp bags and suspected heroin in Vanwormer’s vehicle.

Sept. 26 — Orlando Sciarretti III, 31, of Aliquippa, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after police said he left Walmart with $214 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
