Next week marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Butler-Freeport Community Trail.

Chris Ziegler, president of the trail association, announced Monday that festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Cooper Caboose at the Cabot trailhead, Center Avenue, Cabot.

Trail T-shirts, hats and memberships will be for sale, and free bicycle adjustments will be available.

The caboose will be decorated for Halloween, and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Old pictures and newspaper articles from the trail’s opening in 1992 will be on hand for viewing.
