State police have identified a Lawrence County man who died in a motorcycle crash Thursday in Clinton Township.

Roy L. Herr, Jr., 36, of Wampum sustained fatal injuries in the Thursday crash, police said.

The motorcycle had traveled on and off the road a few times for an unknown reason, before crashing into a guard rail and falling off the motorcycle at Glade Mill Road near Kennedy Lane, said Butler County Coroner William Young III.

Route 228 was closed while crews dealt with the crash. They were on the scene for more than two-and-a-half hours.

Saxonburg Police Department, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, Saxonburg Ambulance and Middlesex Township VFC responded to the scene.
