Robert Kiley

With heavy hearts on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, we had to say farewell to Robert Joseph Kiley, known more importantly as Bob, or Uncle Bob.

He was a resident of Pittsburgh, until the age of 70. Uncle Bob always lived his life to the fullest and if it wasn’t “Extra,” it wasn’t good enough.

Bob is survived by a sister, Patricia Marie Moore (Kiley); a brother-in-law, Barry Lee Moore; two nieces, Angie Marie Moore Sneddon (Beau Sneddon) and their children, Parker, Spencer and Savannah Sneddon, and Brandy Leigh Davison (Craig Davison), and their children, Alex, Kileigh and Jordan Davison; and several friends in essence that were family, and other distant relatives.

A special thank you to the care and devotion to Uncle Bob in his final weeks belongs to James McWee (Jim). We will be forever grateful for your selfless acts of kindness shown to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert L. Kiley and Ruth G. (Heasley) Kiley, and his brother, Donald C. Kiley.

To know him was to love him — he was a man of many attributes and many opinions that came along with that. His bark was always bigger than his bite and his heart was even larger, although he would never admit that. I will never forget the sound of his voice saying, “Helloooo there, this is Uncle Bob.” It will forever put a smile on my face and warm my heart. As soon as you heard that, all the kids would come running as he was and always will be “Our Uncle Bob.”

More than just an uncle to us, he was an extension of us always to be there. His laugh was more than just contagious — it was infectious, and there was no better sound. He taught me that you didn’t always have to color inside the lines, that life can and should be without judgment, and if you loved him, you loved him for everything that was him. You were lucky to be able to watch him live life to the fullest with no regrets and no looking back. He was surrounded by everyone he needed and wanted, and for that he really was the lucky one. He had seen and done everything he was meant to do in this world, and now is his time to rest in peace.

I am forever grateful to have had him as my uncle and partner in crime at any family function. The seat beside me always will be reserved for you (although we were not to be trusted together). But that still didn’t stop us. We still could just look at each other and bust out laughing, because we always knew what the other was thinking. You will always be in my heart and bring a smile to my face. Rest easy my one and only Uncle Bob.

KILEY — As per his request, there will be no services held for Robert Joseph Kiley, who died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022. His time in death is just as fabulous and busy as it was in life.
