Dispatchers report pedestrian hit on Route 228
According to first responders, Route 228 near Mars Area High School and Sheetz will be closed for several hours after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night around 6 p.m.
A Quality EMS ambulance took the pedestrian from the scene for injuries.
Officials say the investigation of the crash is ongoing. As of 7:44 p.m., responders said crews could be on scene for two to three hours.
Traffic is being rerouted at the intersection of Route 228 and Three Degree Road.
Adams Area Fire District, Callery Volunteer Fire Company, Mars Borough, Adams Township and state police responded to the crash. Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Police are assisting with traffic control.
