Lunch prices$1.75 in elementary and $1.75 in secondary schools; milk is 50 cents.constructionThe Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School gymnasium is undergoing a $910,700 renovation project that includes new cooling and heating systems, bleachers, floor, windows, and scoreboards. Construction began in May and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30. The center court logo was designed by an A-C Valley student.

What's new Full-day kindergarten will be implemented this school year. Grants have helped begin implementation of the Olweus Bullying Program at the elementary level. The high school curriculum will include Japanese language classes.At the high school, PSSA Prep classes were added to assist students in demonstrating academic improvement. An increased emphasis on reading and literacy will begin in the fall with students and teachers beginning each day with a 30-minute sustained silent reading period. The high school accelerated reader program will enable all students to improve reading comprehension skills as well as keep track the books they read.
