Trio powers KC girls past Keystone

Chloe Fritch and Emma Dailey both tallied a double-double while teammate Brooklynn Taylor scored a game-high 20 points to lift Karns City’s girls basketball team to a 53-32 win over visiting Keystone on Tuesday.

Fritch scored 14 points and added 12 steals and Dailey netted 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

It was the first win of the season for Karns City (1-2), which outscored the Panthers 33-14 in the second half.

Moniteau 47, Clarion-Limestone 15 — Catherine Kelly sank 18 points and Kendall Sankey tallied 15 rebounds as Moniteau cruised to this win over the visiting Lions.

Davina Pry added 10 points for the Warriors (2-1), who jumped out to a 19-3 lead in the first quarter.

Boys Basketball

Dean Furer (13 points) and Gavin Glista (12) both scored in double figures, but Freeport fell at home, 68-48, to Deer Lakes.

The Yellowjackets (1-2) trailed 25-19 at halftime.

Bryce Robson tallied 24 points for the Lancers.

Hockey

Jacob Komaniak and Jaxson Read both had two goals and an assist Monday as Seneca Valley defeated Bethel Park 8-1. Jonathan Leishman and Alec Malichky had a goal and two assists each.

Ian Uram and Ethan Lindbergh both scored a goal for the Raiders. Marshall Hewitt, Jack Smelscer and Tyler Maxwell had two assists each. Goalie JD Nichols had 16 saves.

The first-place Raiders (8-1-0-1) host Upper St. Clair Monday at 7 p.m.
