Nancy Curzi

Nancy Hipple Curzi, 83, of Sun City, Hilton Head, S.C., formerly of Chicora, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Dec. 5, 2022, in the comfort of her home.

Nancy was born in Chicora on Nov. 8, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Helen Titley Hipple.

She was a 1957 graduate of Chicora High School, and received a degree in nursing from Butler County Community College, and earned a master’s in nursing at Chapman University in Orange, Calif.

Nancy was a longtime and dedicated nurse, having worked at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center from 1977 until 1996, and later at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif. Nancy retired in 2006. She and her husband then moved to Sun City, S.C.

Nancy was an avid reader and animal lover and enjoyed the company of her dogs and cats over the years. She loved to travel and enjoyed the fellowship of the Nurses Club in Sun City.

Nancy married Robert A. “Bob” Curzi on Nov. 13, 1973. He survives.

Also surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie Curzi of Apollo; a stepson, Robert Curzi of Butler; a stepdaughter, Christine R. Jones of Pennsburg; a niece, Susan Welker; as well as a number of cousins.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Chuck Welker; a stepdaughter, Barbara Curzi, and a number of cousins.

CURZI — Local arrangements for Nancy Hipple Curzi, who died Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, are under the direction of HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA.

Interment will be with her parents at Hemphill Cemetery in Chicora.

Memorial contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1053 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
