Vincent E. Bonyak, 86, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Butler, and was a son of the late Andrew Bonyak and Mary (Stelboskey) Bonyak.

Vincent was a graduate of Butler High School.

He retired from the Armco Steel plant in Butler.

He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church in Butler, where he had volunteered for their yearly fish fry.

He was an avid bowler, having played in his league weekly, and loved to read about history. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, and, mostly, spending time with his granddaughters, as he never missed any of their milestones or activities.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Surviving is his daughter, Janine (Richard) Ravas of Kokomo, Ind.; his son, Edward (Kay) Bonyak of Lynchburg, Va.; four granddaughters, Brittany (Scott) Troyer, Nicole (Mitch) Hasadinton, Sarah Bonyak and Hannah Bonyak; one great-granddaughter, Adalyn Troyer; and his siblings, Bernadette Bonyak, Cheryl Eldridge and Ronald Bonyak.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madalena A. (Lappa) Bonyak, whom he married Oct. 24, 1959, and who passed away Feb. 9, 1994; and his siblings, Meredith “Sonny,” Larry, Andrew, John, Leonard, Vera, Julie, Mary, Anna and Helen.

BONYAK — Private services and burial for Vincent E. Bonyak, who died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, will be held for his family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.

Arrangements are being handled by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
