Jessie Paul Teasdale, 48, of Morgantown, W.Va., formerly of West Middlesex, Pa., passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital.

Jessie was born in Santa Ana, Calif. on May 18, 1974, to Sarah M. Mickley and Joe Teasdale.

He graduated from West Middlesex High School, where he played in the marching band and the drum corps group “The Avengers.”

Jessie later received his associate degree in culinary arts from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in Pittsburgh.

Jessie worked for several years as a corporate chef for the Marriott Hotel Group in Asheville and Norfolk, and Smithfield Inn in Smithfield, Va., and the Lakeview Resort in Morgantown, W.Va. He was invited to cook for the 2006 Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl XL event, where he prepared the owners’ dinners and was able to meet Ben Roethlisberger.

Administratively, Jessie held a job where he oversaw the various chefs who provided food for college food service for numerous Greek and other campus organizations. Colleges where he provided this service included Marshall College, West Virginia University, Penn State and the University of Kentucky.

Jessie enjoyed life. He loved playing video games with his son, four-wheeling with his brother and playing drums. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Sarah M. (Thomas W.) Burrows of Portersville; his son, Walker Bennett Teasdale of Morgantown, W.Va.; his sister, Rebecca L. Teasdale of Michigan; his brother, Carl L. (Danielle) Teasdale of West Middlesex, Pa.; and several extended family members.

TEASDALE — The family of Jessie Paul Teasdale, who died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Hwy., Volant.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of Jessie’s son, Walker Teasdale.
