Two men conspired to allegedly profit by more than $210,000 via fraudulent work orders over a year’s time, according to charges filed Friday.

Cranberry Township police charged Chaz E. McAnallen, 41, of Butler, and Jeremy S. Nixon, 48, of New Castle, with four felonies including theft and conspiracy following events occurring in April 2019 through September 2020.

During that time, police said McAnallen was employed as branch installation manager at Home Depot in Cranberry, with Nixon as a contract window installer. McAnallen would create false work orders from jobs already completed and assign them to Nixon.

According to charging documents, there were 241 fabricated work orders.

This story was updated at 12 p.m. Dec. 19 to reflect that Nixon was not an employee of Home Depot. A previous version of this story said two Home Depot employees were charged with fraud by police.
