Lyndora American Legion being demolished
The former American Legion post in Lyndora is being demolished this week, after being condemned by the Butler Township Commissioners years ago.
The demolition began Monday and will be completed as the weather allows.
Butler Township manager Tom Knights said he believes the demolition should take about 30 days, but he anticipates that weather will affect the process.
“It has been an ongoing process to get to the point that it’s being demolished,” Knights said.
Crews worked in the cold air Monday to take down the building, which Knights said was converted into an apartment building following the legion’s closure.
