Crowds of wintertime swimmers will hop into the Allegheny River at the Parker City Boat Launch for a plunge on Sunday.

Following a two-year hiatus, this New Year’s tradition will begin registration at 9 a.m. and kick off its plunge at 2 p.m. Participants must pay $10 to sign up, with all proceeds serving to benefit local charities. A free T-shirt, while supplies last, is included in the cost.

The event includes a basket raffle and vendors. Area businesses also will provide live music and food specials.

An estimated 300 swimmers joined in the last Parker Plunge, which happened Jan. 2, 2020.
