Plans for bridge preservation project viewable online
People who regularly travel east on Route 422 may want to view the state Department of Transportation’s plans online for the Graff Bridge Preservation Project.
The Judge J. Frank Graff Bridge carries Route 422 over the Allegheny River in Armstrong County between Kittanning and Ford City.
The structure carries the highway over the river, two roads, railroad tracks and the Armstrong Trail.
The virtual display, which will be available for viewing from Monday through Jan. 23, will show preliminary information on the $9 million project’s design, schedule and status.
PennDOT representatives and design consultants will be available to answer questions and hear feedback regarding the project.
Construction is slated for summer 2025 and will see a single lane of traffic moving in each direction.
To gain access to the plans, visit penndot.gov/district10, click on “public meetings” under the District Links heading, select the Armstrong County box and choose the Graff Bridge Project.
