Seneca Valley gets past Central Catholic

After opening WPIAL Section 1-6A play with a loss to Butler Tuesday, Seneca Valley rebounded in a 63-54 road triumph. Aiden Lyczek scored 10 points in both halves and Luke Lawson (14 points) and Connor Oros (13) also poured in double-figures.

With a solid defensive effort combined with 19 points from Catherine Kelly, Moniteau downed Clarion, 54-25, at home. Davina Pry added 13 points while the Warriors didn’t allow the visitors to post double-digits in any quarter.

Morgan Croney paced Freeport with 15 points.

Swimming

Slippery Rock split a dual meet with Grove City recently, the Rocket girls winning 103-62 with the boys dropping a 114-49 decision.

Mollie Massella won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly , Gracie Olshanski the 50 and 100 freestyle, Natalie Double the 100 backstroke, Ann-Katherine Burns the 100 breaststroke for the Rockets.

On the boys side, Cody Hartle won the 200 individual medley, Connor Wallace the 50 and 100 freestyle for Slippery Rock.
