Alameda pool admission to increase

Prices on pool passes at Alameda Park will see a $2 increase, after county commissioners approved the change at Monday’s meeting.

The daily rate will be $10 for adults at the beginning of the 2023 season.

County parks and recreation director Lance Welliver said the cost of supplies resulted in the increase, as chlorine costs tripled in the last year.

Alameda Waterpark operated at a loss last year, though Welliver said that was not a surprise.

“To have a loss is normal. A $58,000 loss is more than normal,” he said.

Increases in price for the adult flag football league and the community trunk sale were approved by commissioners in the same motion.

The park also added a three day soccer camp to its activity calendar, costing $55 per child.
