Parker teen dies in crash with log truck

A motorist from Parker, Venango County, was killed when he pulled out in front of a loaded logging truck on Monday, police said.

Jerry H. Fair, 19, died after the 2008 Subaru Impreza he was driving pulled out of a parking lot and onto Route 66 in Paint Township, Clarion County, according to documents from Clarion State Police. The crash was reported at 6:45 a.m.

Fair was turning to travel north on the highway, but pulled into the path of a loaded logging truck driven by Chad J. Hughey, 41, of Brookville, Jefferson County, police said.

Hughey was not injured. Fair died at the scene.

Both vehicles came to rest on Route 66 at the point of impact.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

No citations were issued.
