Butler Eagle announces its January “Pets of the Month”

The Butler Eagle is proud to partner with the Butler County Humane Society to bring you the “Pets of the Month”, showcasing two of the wonderful pets up for adoption at their facility.

Take a look at your January pets of the month below.

Stefani

Stefani is a five-year-old German Shepherd mix that really loves to play in the yard and to chase tennis balls, though be warned, she grows very attached to her tennis balls and does not plan on giving them back.

This loving girl came to the Humane Society on October 16 and was in bad shape. She was missing most of the fur on her face, back and stomach. Her ears were infected (which she is still taking medicine to combat), and her skin was red and inflamed. Today, she’s in much better shape, her fur having grown back in and her fun and loving personality shining through. She is taking specialized food to help with her condition, which she may need to stay on once adopted.

Though she has a loving personality, it is not recommended that Stefani goes to a home with other cats, dogs, or with small children.

Priscilla

Priscilla is a one year, one month old Calico kitten who was found as a stray in Butler Township and brought into the shelter in March of 2022, meaning she has spent most of her life in the shelter.

Originally living inside of the cat condos, Priscilla was very stressed in the environment, which was not allowing her real personality to show through. They moved her into an office space, and in turn, have seen her personality blossom. You can truly see how much of a kitten she is when she pounces on her favorite toys or bounds across the room. The more comfortable she’s grown with workers, the more she snuggles up to them throughout the day.

Though she has had one bad eye since her introduction to the shelter and has undergone treatment for it, it does not hinder her love of exploration. Priscilla could potentially get along with other cats, though introductions would need to happen before adoption. She is not recommended for homes with dogs or small children that have not handled cats before.

If you’re interested in adopting Stefani, Priscilla, or any of the others pets up for adoption, make sure to visit the Butler County Humane Society’s website at www.butlercountyhs.org.
