Response time down for Butler Township fire department
More help still needed
BUTLER TWP — Response time from the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District improved from an average of 24 minutes in 2021 to 11 minutes in 2022 — a 57% time improvement, according to township emergency services director Scott Frederick.
Frederick said at Monday’s meeting of the Butler Township commissioners that the department was able to better its response time, and it also gained around 10 to 12 new active members in 2022.
He also said more information is coming from the department soon regarding the number of calls township crews responded to throughout 2022.
“The fire district will be putting out an annual report in the coming weeks,” Frederick said.
