Pittsburgh man accused of theft, fraud in Jackson Township car break-ins case
A Pittsburgh man was accused Wednesday of theft and fraud following vehicle break-ins in Jackson Township that were linked to a spending spree throughout the region.
Township police charged Gary L. Denson, 47, with felonies theft, device fraud, conspiracy, prohibited possession of a firearm and four counts of misdemeanor theft following a string of incidents from over a year ago.
Police responded to multiple vehicle break-ins in the early morning of Jan. 12, 2022, in neighborhoods near Tollgate School Road. Items reported stolen were a 9 mm Springfield XDS pistol and holster, wallets, credit and debit cards, purses and more.
One of the stolen cards was used that same day at 11 a.m. for a $219 transaction in Pittsburgh, according to documents. Then, police said six more transactions were completed at various businesses in McKees Rocks.
