Moniteau girls topple unbeaten North Clarion

Davina Pry scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds Friday night to lead the Moniteau girls to a 40-25 basketball victory over previously unbeaten North Clarion.

The Warriors (10-3) won their fifth straight game, building a 14-point lead by halftime. Kendall Sankey added eight points for Moniteau.

North Clarion fell to 14-1 with the loss.

Pine-Richland 61, Knoch 55 — The Rams (7-7) sank eight of 12 free throws down the stretch to put away the win in this non-section contest.

Nina Shaw paced Knoch (9-6) with 18 points while Hattie McGraw netted 16. The Knights had won seven of their previous eight games. Madison Zavasky paced Pine-Richland with 20 points.

Natalie Hambly paced the effort with 21 points, Allison Sevin scored 14 and Emerson Peffer 12 for the Raiders (4-11).

Boys Basketball

Dylan Gordon led four Slippery Rock players in double figures Friday night, scoring 20 points, as the Rockets rolled to a 72-34 boys basketball victory over Wilmington.

Levi Prementine added13 points, John Sabo and Josh Book 10 each. Slippery Rock (6-7) had a 46-20 lead at halftime.

Wilmington (2-10) dropped its fourth straight game.

Knoch 58, Greensburg Salem 31 — Zane Pacek struck for a career-high 19 points and added 11 points for the Knights (5-10, 3-2), who snapped a two-game skid. Teagan Finucan added 15 points.

Knoch jumped out to a 20-5 lead by late in the first quarter and was never challenged from there. Greensburg Salem (4-11, 0-5) dropped its sixth straight game.
