South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., Saxonburg, is partnering with Penn State Extension to host a showing of its live webinar “Toss Your Hat in the Ring” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6. This seminar is for anyone interested in learning more about the responsibilities of local officials or how to become a local official. Both elected and appointed offices will be discussed.

This seminar will include an overview of local Pennsylvania governments and the responsibilities of township supervisors, borough council members and school board directors.

Information also will be provided on how to run, including filing a petition, statements of financial interests, reporting campaign expenses and other required information.

There is no fee to attend the webinar at the library. Register by calling the library at 724-352-4810. Walk-ins are welcome, refreshments will be available.
