Brush fires were keeping fire departments busy Wednesday afternoon.

Crews are currently responding to an active brush fire in Jefferson Township and another in Summit Township.

Calls came in for a brush fire at 170 Hannahstown Road, Jefferson Township, at 1:53 p.m. As of 2:30 p.m., dispatchers stated that the fire had spread to a structure and additional units were requested.

People’s Gas was requested for a broken gas line in one of the yards.

Other crews were responding to 204 Serene Lane Wednesday afternoon for a brush fire reported just before 3 p.m.

Earlier in the afternoon, crews responded to multiple other brush fires around Butler County.
