High winds caused two trees to fall in Jackson Township on Wednesday morning, causing damage to a house, garage and two vehicles.

Don Mars, who has lived at his Perry Way residence for decades, said around 8 a.m. one tree fell into another, causing both to topple.

The trees damaged the roof of the garage, broke a window on the house and struck a truck and van that were parked in the driveway.

Mars said the garage suffered the most significant damage, and that a door between the house and garage was unable to be opened following the incident.

Both vehicles in the driveway were held captive by the branches into the afternoon.

Mars and his son worked to cut away some of the branches after learning that a tree service company could not come until Thursday.
