Elizabeth Hieber
Elizabeth “Libby” Spicer Hieber, 81, of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.
Elizabeth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Born on May 20, 1941, in Hazard, Ky., she was the daughter of Lillian (White) Spicer and Ernest Spicer.
As a young teenager, Libby moved to Cranberry Township with her mom and stepdad, Edward Kalish. She met and married the love of her life, Calvin W. Hieber on Oct. 22, 1960, when she was 19 years old. Their everlasting love created Kathleen and Bonnie.
Elizabeth was the best mom! She loved being a mom. The world revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After Calvin passed away in 2002, Elizabeth met Eugene Schmuck. They enjoyed each other’s love and friendship until the end.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Mary Campbell (the late Daryl) of Dayton, Ohio; her brother, John Spicer (the late Greta) of Cranberry Township; her sister, Jimmie Jo Nicolazzo (Joseph); her daughters, Kathy Hieber Kotlinski (John) of New Castle and Bonnie Hieber Potter (Tim) of Harmony; her grandchildren, James Mignanelli (Nichol), Jason Mignanelli (Nancy), Philip Magnanelli, Maggie Mignanelli Lipnicky (Andrew), Adam Kotlinski (Kylee) and Sarah Kotlinski (Warren); her great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Dominic, Dean, Santino, Tanner, Gianna Lee, Stella Rose and Sadie Mae; and all who loved her.
HIEBER — Friends of Elizabeth “Libby” Spicer Hieber, who died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in West Union Cemetery, Pine Township.
