SR student caught with alcohol, police said
A student of Slippery Rock Area High school was caught with an alcoholic beverage in class, state police said.
Police responded to the school Friday after reports that a 17-year-old male was drinking a Twisted Tea malt beverage, documents said.
According to superintendent Alfonso Angelucci, the incident was brought to the principal’s attention, who reported it to law enforcement.
He said the student was “disciplined as per the procedures outlined in our student handbook.”
Police said the juvenile was interviewed about the incident and cited for purchase, consumption and possession of liquor or malt beverages.
The consequences of the citation could include a fine, according to the Pennsylvania crime code.
