Man accused of knife attack in Butler
A 19-year-old man is accused of striking someone in the back of the head with a knife Tuesday night, city police said.
Aaron M. Demko, of Butler, was charged Wednesday with felony aggravated assault following the incident.
Police said they responded at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 for a disturbance in the 400 block of West New Castle Street.
An alleged victim told officers Demko struck him in the back of the head with a small kitchen knife as he was bent over cleaning. The knife’s blade broke off from the handle, police said.
Demko then grabbed a larger kitchen knife and began waving it at the alleged victim, according to documents. Police said the alleged victim punched Demko in the face and fled.
Demko was located walking in the middle of the street on Bell Drive in Pullman Plaza, according to documents. He was taken into custody and is being held in Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
