Janet Carol (Nowack) DiIanni, 79, a longtime resident of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Jan. 18, 1944, in Millvale, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Webb) Nowack.

Before retirement, Janet enjoyed a career with PennDOT as the photographer for driver’s license photographs at the North Hills location.

She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and tending to her garden. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her wonderful sense of humor. Janet was a loving and caring mother and will be missed deeply.

Janet is survived by her two daughters, Carrie Jones and her husband, Michael, and Dawn Salak-Lobaugh and her husband, the late Elwyn John Hochrein; her stepgrandchild, Jaden Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald DiIanni, who passed away in 2018; and her brother, James H. Nowack.

DIIANNI — A memorial service for Janet Carol (Nowack) DiIanni, who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, will be held privately at a later date to be announced.

Arrangements are under the direction of JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Janet may be made to the American Heart Association.
