Interim county solicitor appointed
Butler County commissioners appointed Julie M. Graham as interim county solicitor Friday afternoon.
The position was left vacant after commissioners announced Thursday that former solicitor H. William “Wil” White III was no longer employed by the county.
Graham said Friday that she previously held the position of interim solicitor from late 2018 to early 2019 and worked in the solicitors office from 1992 to 2013.
“I’m happy to help,” she said. “I think my several decades of experience qualifies me.”
“The Commissioners are confident that she is capable of performing all legal aspects of County work while ensuring the utmost professionalism,” commissioners said in a statement.
The statement added that the Gabriel Fera P.C. law firm will provide legal support to the Bureau of Elections until a permanent solicitor is hired.
Commissioner Leslie Osche didn’t give a reason for White’s departure, saying it was a personnel matter.
