Sabo

Donald J. Sabo, 81, of Middlesex Township, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Don was born on April 9, 1941, to Mary Lutheran Sabo and Joseph Sabo in Munhall.

Upon receiving his master’s degree from Duquesne University, Don became a teacher at Westinghouse High School. He then worked as a guidance counselor at Gladstone Middle School until retirement.

Don was a social person who enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing. He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church and embraced his Catholic faith.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hummert Sabo; and his three children, Donnie Sabo, Dana Sabo (husband Jerry) and Mark Sabo.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Scott Delano, Heather Hickinbottom, Kathy King, Johanna George and Paul and Mickee Schuetz. Thank you for providing comfort and help when it was needed.

SABO — A funeral mass for Donald J. Sabo, who died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, was on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Holy Sepulcher Church, Butler. A luncheon was held following mass at Hardwood Cafe, Butler.
