Butler Catholic threat from earlier this week deemed ‘not credible’
An alleged threat made against Butler Catholic School on Sunday was found to be not credible and stemmed from a bullying incident, Principal Sister John Ann Mulhern said in a Monday email acquired by the Butler Eagle.
In the email, Mulhern said rumors were dispelled and students were safe.
“After an investigation, it was determined there was no credibility to that threat,” she wrote. “What started as a late-night series of prank calls and text messages elevated to spreading of bullying messages and repetition of ‘he said-she said.’”
All threats were made outside of school being in session and not on school grounds, she added.
“Please be extra vigilant with your children’s usage of social media,” she said. “Please speak with your children about consequences of choices of behavior.”
School was in session on Monday, March 13.
School administrators said a statement about the incident is to come.
