A Butler man was charged for stabbing someone with a machete Wednesday evening in Butler city, police said Thursday.

Lee Hockenberry, 54, was placed in Butler County Prison following the incident. Hockenberry was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to reports of two males in the road around 5:15 p.m. at Franklin Street and WISR Way, one of which was stabbed.
