Route 38 closed due to reported shooting
WASHINGTON TWP — State police are at the scene of a reported shooting near the North Washington Rodeo.
Emergency services dispatch received a call at 3:18 p.m. indicating that a male was shot in the back and the shooter reported the shooting.
Several troopers were at the scene just off of Route 38 on a side road a short distance south of the rodeo grounds. One person was reportedly taken from the scene in an ambulance.
In Twitter post, police said there was an isolated incident near the rodeo grounds and there is no current public safety threat. Police said people should avoid the area if possible.
Northbound traffic on Route 38 was being detoured on to Bruin Road. Southbound traffic was being detoured at Fairview Road. The North Washington Volunteer Fire Department was assisting police.
